ESL is a course designed for students who wish to study English as a Second Language in the Philippines preferably to non-native English speakers such as Koreans, Japanese, Chinese, Arabs and other nationalities including Filipinos. Students are diagnosed at the start of the course as to their comprehension and reading level. The school uses a combination of American, Canadian, British and Filipino ESL curriculum and materials. It offers various ESL levels namely: LOW BEGINNER, HIGH BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED.
The school offers two (2) types of ESL program.  The first one is ONLINE ESL PROGRAM and the second one is ONSITE ESL PROGRAM:

This is a one to one ESL program rendered by the school to the student through www.skype.com.

GROUP SESSION is six (6) hours a day, Monday to Friday at an average
          rate lower than the most language schools in Cebu.  The longer the
          duration of the study the cheaper the tuifion fee will be.  Individual                     booking is charged with higher rate than group booking. Group
          booking is given discount
ONE TO ONE SESSION: The rate is Php 450.00 to Php Php 600.00 per
           hour – Minimum of 3 hours a day, Monday to Friday for a minimum of 4
           weeks.
Foreign ESL student who wish to study English in the Philippines may come easily to the country without any hassle  with the following requirements to bring:
1. Valid Passport, Round trip plane ticket, pocket money and Formal Notice of Acceptance from the School (indicating that he/she has enrolled and was accepted by the school to study an Intensive English Study Course or English as a Second Language (ESL) course.
2. Upon arrival at any Philippine International Airport (Manila or Cebu), the ESL student should present his/her valid Passport, Round Trip plane ticket or the School’s Notice of Acceptance to the Immigration Officer should it be required. If there is no problem, attending Phiippine Immigration Officer stamps the student’s passport for an automatic stay in the Philippines for 30 days.
3. Upon first day of class at Harvest Christian School International (HCSI), ESL student should present his/her Passport to the school registrar for processing his/her Special Study Permit (SSP) to study English with the Bureau of Immigration. The Special Study Permit (SSP) is to make the ESL student’s study of English in the Philippines ‘legal’.
4. Two days before the end of the first 30 days, the foreign ESL student shall apply for extension of his/her stay in the Philippines with the school’s assistance with the Bureau of Immigration.  The Bureau of Immigration may or will give the ESL student a first extension of 38 days for appropriate visa extension fees detailed above.
5. After 59 days of stay (12 days + 38 days), the ESL student may extend his/her stay in the Philippines for another month up to six months and pay the necessary ACR I-Card fee and corresponding visa extension fees as mentioned above.
1) Prospective student fills up Enrollment Form ONLINE through this school’s website:  www.hcsinternational.org  by clicking “ENROLL NOW” on the left side of this page, then fill up the necessary information and data and click ‘Submit’.
2) Submit the following requirements via e-mail to the Admission Office upon enrollment
2.1  1 pc. 2X2 ID coloured picture (scanned copy or hard copy)
2.2  Photocopy of Passport for international student
3) School admission officer gives student a notice of acceptance either orally, in writing or via e-mail.
4) Student  pays School Fees to the School Cashier or through the school’s bank account via fund transfer at least 1 month before expected departure date or earlier:

(Please inform the school via e-mail of the deposit/transfer made for confirmation. The student or sender shall shoulder all correspondent bank charges. Hence, sender should ask first his/her bank of possible bank charges and any correspondent bank charges in sending the amount via fund transfer. The amount of money to be credited or received by the school’s bank must be the exact amount. Official Receipt will be issued later. Please keep a copy of your deposit slip or transfer slip.)
5) School representative meets the ESL student at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport and bring him/her directly to the Homestay host or the school’s Guest House or Homestay Host.
6) Student secures Special Study Permit (SSP) from local immigration office within one week of study in the school. The school will assist student to secure his/her SSP from the local immigration office for a separate processing fee of Php 2,880.00  plus around Php 7,040.00 for SSP filing and registration fees with the Bureau of Immigration.

ESL COURSES

English for Specific Purpose (ESP) is a study of English designed for professionals and business entrepreneurs who need English as part of their daily professional interaction. ESP is a higher form of ESL course. It gives the professional the necessary English skills and prepares him to cope, with confidence, in an environment where English is the standard medium of communication. The school can tailor the ESP program for the specific need of the students for specific purpose such as English for Business, English for Law, English for Accounting, English for Medics/Paramedics practitioners, English for Engineers, English for Call Center Operators and the like.

Study English in the Philippines through HCSI’s ESP programs can be very challenging and worth investing.

SELIP is a program designed by the school to immerse the English Language Learners (ELL) or ESL students to the school’s regular program. It is a continuing program wherein the learners are placed in the regular program in a level he/she can tackle. The learners join with the regular students to study various subjects in Science, Math, Social Studies or other subjects in English. This immersion program is so effective that the learners build their vocabulary, grammar and speaking skills faster than in a normal ESL class. The school’s SELIP course is also a PREPARATORY PROGRAM OR BRIDGE PROGRAM for Non-native English speaking students gain entrance to its REGULAR BASIC EDUCATION COURSES.
